This is a splendidly easy and delicious recipe. I also add a jar of Savory Beef or Beef Mushroom gravy for a little added flavor. I think I'll go make this right now!

I don't like mushroom soup. What can I use instead?

 Nettie (United States) replies:
Janet, when I made it, I used 2 cans of cream of chicken mushroom soup. I gave it a good flavor. You can also used two cans of cream of chicken. I also browned my meat before I put it in the casserole dish with the other ingredients. I hope this help with your question. I also cooked regular Uncle Bens long grain rice while this was cooking. I served it with steamed cabbage/carrots and corn muffins.

Easy and delicious. I don't like mushroom soup so I used cream of onion soup and a jar of Savory Beef Gravy. Then I cooked it on low in the crockpot. You could thicken the gravy and serve over egg noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.

My enitre family loved the meal. Very simple and the meat was tender and juicy. It went great with mashed potatoes. This has been added to my recipe book!

This was very good, considering how simple it was. I made it exactly as written. I might quibble that there was too much sauce in proportion to the amount of meat, but I served it over cooked white rice, which soaked up a lot of sauce. It was all very tasty. A good, filling choice if one is feeling a bit lazy about cooking.
